From January through March 2016, Passaic County CASA will be seeking donations of "Hug Packs" and new toiletries to support youth in the foster care system. A "Hug Pack" is either a duffle bag or a new pillowcase filled with needed toiletry items.
Many times kids enter the foster care system with just the clothes on their backs. Some move between foster homes with the belongings that they do have packed in a trash bag. There are many helpful organizations that have begun collecting suit cases, bags, and toiletries for these kids.
From January-March 2016 we are holding a toiletry drive event where we are collecting donations of toiletries, duffle bags and new pillowcases for older youth entering and moving within the foster care system in Passaic County.
This is a great project for community organizations, corporations, schools and families to join together and make a much needed impact in the life of a child in foster care.
