The first dialogue will focus on meeting the needs of families, the service workers that support them, and the collaboratives that hold it all together during the current public health crisis. Join this opportunity to learn about ways communities and agencies are adjusting their practices and services to improve outcomes for families affected by substance use disorders and involvement in child welfare. Some of the crucial discussion topics will include:
Maintaining family contact (visitation/family time)
Therapeutic and treatment interventions for parents, including evidence-based practices
Safety assessment, drug testing, case plan progress, and permanency/reunification planning
The importance of providing new types of support services
Providing emergency services to families in need
New platforms and strategies used to support families, staff, and collaborative partners
Changes made during the public health crisis that are improvements over previous systems and how providers hope to sustain those changes
