Human Trafficking: What Foster Parents (and all parents) Should Know

According to the National Foster Youth Institute, it is estimated that 60 percent of child sex trafficking victims have a history in the child welfare system and in some areas that number may be higher.

Predators look for those who are vulnerable and often foster youth fall into that category.

It is important for parents to know:

- A general understanding of trafficking and terms.

- What makes a child vulnerable and especially foster children?

- How and what to educate your foster child about predators.

- How to recognize if your foster child is being targeted.

Hosted by Children's Fund, Children's Network, and San Bernardino County's Children and Family Services Department.
