Overview of New Jersey Early Intervention

  • Zoom United States (map)

“Overview of New Jersey Early Intervention” will provide insight to how families are referred to early intervention in NJ, how children are determined to be eligible for the system, and how a team works together to create an Individualized Family Service Plan. There will be discussion of how outcomes are created, how services are determined and implemented, and the family’s role in the process. The mission of NJEIS is to enhance the family’s capacity to meet the developmental and health related needs of children birth to three years old who have developmental delays and/or disabilities.

Presented by Nicole Ramirez. Nicole has worked as the Training and Technical Assistance Coordinator in the Helpful Hands Regional Early Intervention Collaborative (REIC) for two years.  Her main responsibilities are to provide support and training to New Jersey Early Intervention practitioners, service coordinators and agency administrators in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic Counties.  Prior to taking on this role two years ago, Nicole was a Child Development Specialist working directly with families in EI and was a Clinical Supervisor for an early intervention agency.  She has worked in various roles in NJEIS for 15 years.
