APFC is thrilled to offer our DV: SOS (Support on Site) webinars to CASA of New Jersey. Since March 2020, we have presented this program to more than 800 social service agency staff including over 100 CASA volunteers. DV:SOS is a program that provides two (2) hour classes designed to help CASA volunteers gain insight into the issue of domestic violence and understand the impact it has on children; it addresses the issue from a victim's perspective and provides practical information that will help CASA volunteers better understand victimization and the resources for support.
Effects of DV on Children: Discussion of the emotional and behavioral impact on children; techniques in talking to children exposed to domestic violence at home; and local resources for referral/support.
