Internship Positions
General Information:
We accept interns for the fall, spring, and summer semesters and review submissions periodically. Please note that while the minimum requirement for most internships is one semester, applicants who can commit two semesters are given preference.
Expectations across all internship roles are as follows:
Maintain a high level of professionalism in the workplace (virtually and/or in-person)
Follow a consistent weekly working schedule
Meet with the direct supervisor weekly to discuss action items and assignment/project progress
Complete projects and tasks in a timely manner

Passaic County CASA welcomes interns for the following positions. All internships are unpaid but may be taken for college credit. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. No phone calls, please.
Outreach/Social Media Intern
The Marketing and Social Media Intern will help with all areas of marketing and social media. Platforms include, but are not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok. In addition to helping develop a social media strategy, s/he will help generate content and monitor effectiveness. S/he will also assist in marketing efforts, help brainstorm new communication efforts, and help us get the word out about CASA.
Responsibilities:
Develop strategy and content for the organization’s social media channels
Brainstorm and assist with marketing efforts
Grow social media audiences and increase engagement
Create ads for Facebook and Instagram
Monitor notifications, comments, and messaging
Attend events as needed
Assist in the development of flyers and other communications for volunteer recruitment/marketing
Attend in-person recruitment events
Requirements:
Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week
Must be able to pass a background check
Previous experience with social media management
Interest in child welfare, advocacy, and/or nonprofit work
Be creative
Demonstrate professionalism
Handle sensitive, confidential information
Occasional evening and weekend availability
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with photography or graphic design
Experience with basic video editing
Suggested Majors: Communications, Journalism, Marketing

Communications & Development Intern
The Communications & Development Intern will support our Director of Donor and Community Engagement in diverse communications, including drafting various communications, supporting grants, and an emphasis on grant research.
Responsibilities:
Create social media posts to generate excitement and engagement with the organization
Research various topics to support grant writing
Draft and edit grant writingAssist with outreach to potential funders
Search for, screen, and identify potential grant opportunities
Place and organize grant opportunities in a database for the Development Director
