OPEN POSITION: Communications
The Director of Communications is responsible for furthering the mission of Passaic County CASA across all communication channels, including, but not limited to, paid and organic social media, website, print, and email. Primary objectives are: Volunteer recruitment and retention; Attracting and acknowledging donors and supporters; Increasing community awareness and support; and the production of printed and digital assets as-needed for events, fundraising, marketing, and internal needs.
Specific responsibilities include creating effective content and assets for social media, web, advertising, email, and publications, including event invitations, programs, and annual reports. Actively attract media coverage via press outreach and releases, advising leadership on opportunities for additional exposure and public relations opportunities. Track key website metrics and report on performance, taking active steps to improve results. Support development as needed with donor communications and the production of special events with both creative and written materials.
This is a full-time position ideally suited for a creative outside-the-box thinker who can produce visual and written content across platforms and in a variety of styles. Must display discretion and good judgment in all communications. Video editing, SEO, Google Ads, and Google Analytics a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree or commensurate education and work experience combination will be considered in lieu of an undergraduate degree
Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign required
Advanced social media knowledge in a professional setting (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok) and the ability to produce regular, informative, and engaging content across all channels
2-3 years of experience in sales, marketing or communications. Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required.
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 starting, plus benefits package
