Coordinated & Collaborative Responses: Infants Experiencing Family Violence

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, No To Violence (NTV) and Domestic Violence Victoria (DVVic) invite family services, perpetrator services and specialist family violence workers to a three-part webinar series exploring collaborative practice for the safety and wellbeing of children experiencing family violence. Each webinar will focus on three age-groups; infants, children and adolescents.

The first webinar, Infants Experiencing Family Violence focuses on collaborative responses for the safety and wellbeing of infants experiencing family violence through the lens of family services, perpetrator services and specialist family violence services (MARAM Responsibility 9&10). It will utilise a case study from the sector to work through coordinated practice approaches to respond to family violence risk to infants.

Panellists include:

  • Luke Doherty, Team Leader, Family Services, Family Life

  • Katie Meehan, Practice Specialist Family Violence and Child Safety, Relationships Australia Victoria

  • Charelle Jackson, Outreach Coordinator, Elizabeth Morgan House

The panel will explore:

  • unique family violence risks, and protective factors for infants/children/ young people

  • maintaining an infant/child/young person focus means in practice for family violence responses

  • how to identify/assess/collaboratively manage family violence risk to infant/ children/young people

This session will be facilitated by Michelle Perry, Family Violence Practice Manager, Magistrates Court Victoria as well as guest speaker representatives from the child and family services, victim-survivors support services and perpetrator intervention services sector.
