An Introduction to Human Trafficking: The Impact on Youth and Families in New Jersey - Part 2

Trafficking is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Anyone can become a victim, including men, women, and children. During this training you will learn important terminology, the different types of human trafficking that exist and gain an understanding of the scope of the problem. Current information on human trafficking and its impact on youth and families in New Jersey will be discussed including strategies and resources for intervention.

Objectives - At the end of this training, participants should be able to:

1. Define Human Trafficking.

2. Describe Three Forms of Human Trafficking.

3. Discuss the extent of Human Trafficking in New Jersey.

4. Identify Risk Factors for human trafficking victims.

5. Describe the dynamics of coercive control.

6. Discuss warning signs that a youth or family member may be a victim of trafficking.

7. Identify resources in NJ available to support victims of Human Trafficking.

8. Develop strategies to effectively engage with victims of human trafficking.
